I went on a little shopping trip with my auntie today and she gave me £50 to spend on beauty products — but I could only spend it in one shop. I chose Boots because it’s one of my favourite places to shop for beauty. They’ve got a huge range of products, from skincare to makeup to haircare, and the prices are really good. It’s also just a really nice store to walk around and see what’s new!

Here’s what I bought with my £50 — all products I actually use and recommend.

1. L’Oréal Elvive Glycolic Gloss 5-Minute Lamination

First up was the L’Oréal Elvive Glycolic Gloss 5-Minute Lamination. I’ve used this before and I love it — it makes my hair so shiny and soft, like I’ve just had it done at a salon. It’s really easy to use after shampoo and conditioner — you just leave it on for five minutes, rinse it off, and it leaves your hair looking and feeling amazing.

I always get compliments when I’ve used it, and even though it’s around £16.99, it lasts me ages and is 100% worth it.

2. Starface Hydro Star + Big Yellow Spot Patches

The second thing I grabbed was the Starface Hydro Star + Big Yellow spot patches. They’re really popular with teenagers and actually help with shrinking spots and clearing your skin. I use them after my skincare routine, usually before bed, and they pull out the bad stuff from spots while protecting your skin.

They’re a bit pricier than some other spot patches, but they really work. The packaging is fun too — it has a little mirror inside — and you can get them in loads of different colours. I went for the yellow ones, which are my favourite.

3. The Inkey List Glycolic Acid Toner

Next, I got The Inkey List Glycolic Acid Toner — one of my must-have skincare products. It’s great for oily and blemish-prone skin, and it keeps my face feeling clean and smooth while helping with breakouts. It’s gentle but effective, and it lasts about three to four months, so the £12 price tag feels fair.

It’s a product I keep going back to because it works, and I like the simple, easy-to-read packaging.

4. Simple Hyaluronic Acid + B5 Booster Serum

The next product I picked up was the Simple 3% Hyaluronic Acid + B5 Booster Serum. I love this serum because it’s affordable but works so well. It hydrates my skin, helps it feel smooth and fresh, and gives it a bit of a glow.

The whole Boots Ingredients range has different options for different skin concerns, but this one is my favourite. It’s perfect for adding moisture after using things like toners or spot treatments. You only need a couple of drops and it fits easily into your routine — it just makes your skin feel more balanced and healthy overall.

5. Garnier SkinActive BB Cream

The last product I picked up was the Garnier SkinActive BB Cream, which I’ve used for ages. It’s perfect if you don’t want heavy makeup — it gives nice coverage, feels light, and doesn’t break me out like some foundations do.

I recommend it to all teens because it gives you a healthy glow, hydrates your skin, and even has SPF in it, which is always a bonus. It lasts for ages because you only need a little bit, and it’s great for everyday use when you want to look fresh without too much effort.

Final Thoughts – Was It Worth It?

I’m really happy with what I got for my £50 — it’s all products I use in my everyday life, not just random things for the sake of it. I think Boots is a great place to shop because they have such a wide range of beauty products at decent prices, and you can easily pick up things you love or try something new without spending loads.

I’d recommend all these products to anyone around my age because they’re good quality, last a long time, and feel really nice on your skin or hair. I’ll definitely be going back for more when I run out!
