What Skincare Should I Follow for My Age?

When you’re a teenager, it can feel like there are so many skincare products everywhere and it’s hard to know what you actually need. In my opinion, the best thing is to keep it really simple. You don’t need loads of fancy products, and definitely not anti-aging creams — your skin is young and healthy, so you don’t need to worry about that yet!

The best routine is just the basics: a good toner, a spot cream (if you get spots), a moisturiser, and a sunscreen. That’s it. These are the products I use myself and recommend because they’re affordable, easy to find, and actually work.

My Favourite Skincare Products for Teens

1. The Inkey List Glycolic Acid Toner

This is my favourite toner, especially if you have oily or blemish-prone skin, which lots of teens do because of hormones. It really helps keep my skin clear and smooth. It’s £12 for 100ml and lasts me about 3–4 months, so it’s really good value. Everyone I know who has tried it has said it worked well for them too! The packaging is clear and easy to understand, and it explains exactly what it does, which I really like.

2. The Inkey List Succinic Acid Treatment

If you don’t get spots, you might not need this, but as someone who does, this has really helped me. It’s a green spot cream, so it helps colour-correct any redness and also clears up spots and dark areas on your face. It’s easy to buy, only £9, and I’ve seen a big difference since using it. Loads of people I know have had really good results with it. The packaging is simple and clear, so it’s easy to know exactly how to use it.

3. Nivea Soft Moisturiser

This is my go-to moisturiser. It’s only £2, you can literally buy it anywhere, and it makes my skin feel so soft and smooth. It’s a thicker moisturiser so it feels like your skin is properly hydrated after using it. It’s also great for dry skin, and I know loads of my friends use it. You can also use it on your body or even as a makeup primer, which is so useful!

4. Bondi Sands Sunscreen

Sunscreen is honestly so important, especially in the morning. I love the Bondi Sands sunscreen because it’s really light, not greasy at all, and makes my face feel fresh. It costs £10 and lasts ages. Sunscreen helps protect your skin from sun damage, but it also stops future ageing, so you’re looking after your skin long-term. Any sunscreen works as long as you use it, but Bondi Sands is my personal favourite.

Final Thoughts

Everyone’s skin is different, but I’ve found that keeping my skincare routine really simple works best. These products are easy to find, affordable, and have helped me keep my skin clear and healthy. I think it’s about finding what works for you, but hopefully, this helps if you’re looking for where to start!
